Một số ấn phẩm nghiên cứu nhân Ngày sốt rét thế giới 25‐4‐2015

Với thông điệp Mỗi ngày đều là Ngày Sốt rét (“Everyday is Malaria Day”), ngày 25 tháng 4 đánh dấu Ngày Sốt rét thế giới, một ngày để tập trung vào các cam kết và các cảnh khốn khó do sốt rét mang lại và cũng cho các nổ lực phòng chống hàng ngày càng tích cực hơn.

Tuy nhiên, mỗi ngày deuf là ngày Sốt rét đối với ½ dân số thế giới vì bệnh hình như có liên quan đến cuộc sống hàng ngày của họ. Tương tự như thế, đối với các nhà khoa học và các tổ chức đang làm việc trong lĩnh vực phòng chống và loại trừ sốt rét thì bệnh đang là mối nguy hại hàng ngày đối với chính họ. Thông điệp “The Every Day is Malaria Day” nêu lên một số nghiên cứu tiến hành mỗi ngày của giới khoa học quan tâm đến sốt rét trên toàn thế giới.

Sốt rét đã đồng hành cùng với sự tiến hóa của nhân loại, nó đã cướp đi rất nhiều người hơn cả chiến tranh. Về phạm vi toàn cầu, khoảng 3,2 tỷ người có nguy cơ sốt rét và 1,2 tỷ người có nguy cơ cao. Năm 2013, sốt rét với số ca lên đến 198.000.000 ca và tử vong 584.000 ca; gần 90% số ca chết này xảy ra tại châu Phi và 78% số ca xảy ra ở trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi. Tuy nhiên, sốt rét toàn cầu đang đối mặt với nhiều thách thức đó là sốt rét kháng thuốc, muỗi kháng hóa chất báo cáo tại 49/ 63 quốc gia.
