Quy Nhon Malaria‐Parasitology‐Entomology Institute and Tay Nguyen University signed a cooperation agreement on training and scientific research.

On June 3, 2022, Quy Nhon Malaria‐Parasitology‐Entomology Institute received a delegation from Tay Nguyen University to work to strengthen cooperation in training and scientific research between the two units in the current situation.

On June 3 , 2022, Quy Nhon Institute of Malaria, Parasitology and Entomology received a delegation from Tay Nguyen University to work to strengthen cooperation in training and scientific research between the two units in the current situation .

Attending the meeting, the Quy Nhon Malaria‐Parasitology‐Entomology Institute included: Dr. Huynh Hong Quang ‐ Deputy Director, Heads of departments/offices/centers and specialists. The delegation of Tay Nguyen University included Dr. Nguyen Thanh Truc ‐ Principal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuong Dai Nguyen ‐ Training Department, Dr. Le The Phiet, Head of TCKH, Dr. Phan Hung Manh, Deputy of Pedagogy Department, MSc. Nguyen Hung Doanh, Principal of Tay Nguyen University High School.

Quy Nhon Malaria‐Parasitology‐Entomology Institute is a medical service unit under the Ministry of Health with the function of providing career services in the field of prevention and control of malaria, parasitic diseases, related tropical diseases and disease‐transmitting insects; scientific research, training and fostering of medical human resources, technical guidance for lower levels on prevention and control of malaria, parasitic diseases, insects, related tropical diseases within the scope of 15 provinces in the Central ‐ Central Highlands; organizing the provision of services to meet social needs according to the provisions of law. The Institute has 04 functional departments, 05 specialized departments and 03 affiliated units. The total number of staff and contracts of the Institute is 216 people (103 men, accounting for 48%, 113 women, accounting for 52%), including 04 civil servants, 128 public employees and 84 labor contracts. Postgraduate staff are 67 people: 02 Associate Professors, 05 Doctors, 01 BSCKII, 01 DSCKI, 58 Masters, 94 University, 26 College, 20 intermediate and 09 other staff. Regarding professional titles, there are: 02 grade I, 15 grade II, 85 grade III, 18 grade IV.

At the meeting, Dr. Huynh Hong Quang ‐ Deputy Director of the Institute highly appreciated and appreciated the cooperation between the two units in the field of scientific research in the coming time. Dr. Huynh Hong Quang ‐ Deputy Director of the Institute also shared some of the strengths of the Institute such as: in‐depth scientific research in areas such as malaria, parasitic diseases, especially liver fluke disease; Providing a team of specialized experts for consultation and criticism; Training, coordinating training and retraining because the Institute has a school and a team of leading lecturers and staff aiming at professional training; Transferring science and technology; Infrastructure and modern equipment and machinery with a team of professional staff. Dr. Huynh Hong Quang really hopes to be able to utilize the strengths of each unit to cooperate in training, improving the quality of the team of doctors and medical staff at hospitals, institutes and medical centers at all levels. At the same time, the two units cooperate in transferring technology and improving the level and scientific research skills of the staff as well as training the younger generation. Thereby, it is possible to learn and continue the valuable knowledge of leading experts.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Truc ‐ Principal also shared some of the strengths of Tay Nguyen University in terms of training and in‐depth scientific research with nearly 45 years of establishment and development of the University. Tay Nguyen University has gradually affirmed its position in the Central Highlands region with more than 36 university training levels. In addition, Tay Nguyen University has also established a high school and will continue to open more kindergartens in the near future.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation related to undergraduate and postgraduate training and a memorandum of understanding on providing data on the activities of the two units, thereby further promoting the cooperative relationship between the two units in the coming time. The memorandum of understanding between the Institute and the University marks the close connection between the two units with a number of important contents:

  1. The Institute and the School coordinate to propose and implement a number of scientific research and international cooperation contents according to the capacity and potential advantages of the two units.
  2. The Institute and the School create conditions for teaching and research staff to access new and modern technological equipment of the two existing units.
  3. Coordinate the organization of academic training and scientific research activities, exchange information through conferences, specialized seminars, seminars, academic exchanges; cooperate in postgraduate training in fields such as Doctor, Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Medical Testing.
  4. The Institute and the School share research results and scientific information in the library and specialized journals.

Thus, with a long history of cooperation in training and scientific research , the signing ceremony of cooperation between Tay Nguyen University and Quy Nhon Malaria‐Parasitology‐Entomology Institute further contributes to the excellent completion of each unit’s tasks assigned by the Party and the State . Hopefully, in the coming time, the two units will propose scientific and technological tasks, promote the research process, joint training of scientific research projects, and effectively apply the inherent scientific and technological potential of the participating parties.
